# Return Policy – akihabara-vintage-store

## 1. 14-Day Return Window
You may request a return within 14 days of the date your order is delivered.
To be eligible, you must contact us within this 14-day period and receive return authorization before sending the item back.
Pre-order or specially reserved items are not eligible for return under this 14-day return policy unless the item arrives damaged, defective, or materially different from the product description.

## 2. Return Eligibility
To be eligible for a return, the item must:
- Be in the same condition as when it was delivered
- Not have been used, worn, altered, repaired, opened, disassembled, or modified after delivery
- Include all original accessories, documentation, tags, boxes, packaging, and other items that were included with the order
- Have the same serial number and identifying marks as the item originally shipped
- Be securely packed for return shipping
- Include valid proof of purchase, such as an order confirmation or receipt
Because we primarily sell vintage and pre-owned items, minor signs of age or previous use that were shown in the photographs or described on the product page are not considered defects.
Returns may be refused if the item is returned in a different condition, is missing accessories or packaging, has been damaged after delivery, or shows evidence of use, alteration, repair, or parts removal.

## 3. How to Start a Return
To request a return:
1. Contact us at akihabara.vintage.store@gmail.com within 14 days of delivery.
2. Include your order number, the reason for the return, and clear photographs or videos showing the item’s current condition.
3. Wait for our return authorization and shipping instructions before sending the item.
4. After approval, we will provide the return address and, when applicable, a return shipping label.
Items returned without prior authorization may be refused and may not be eligible for a refund.
Please do not send returns to the address shown on the original shipping label unless we specifically instruct you to do so.

## 4. Return Shipping Costs
### Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items
If the item arrives damaged, is materially defective, or is different from the item ordered, we will provide an appropriate return method and cover the reasonable return shipping cost.
The issue must be reported promptly after delivery with photographs or video showing:
- The shipping package
- The shipping label
- The packing materials
- The item’s condition
- The serial number, where applicable
- The reported damage or defect
### Returns for Other Reasons
For returns due to a change of mind, an incorrect purchase, compatibility concerns, size preferences, or other reasons not caused by our error, the customer is responsible for the return shipping cost.
The customer is also responsible for any insurance, tracking, customs documentation, duties, taxes, brokerage charges, or carrier fees associated with the return.
We strongly recommend using a trackable and insured shipping service. We are not responsible for return shipments that are lost, damaged, delayed, or not delivered to us.

## 5. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items
Please inspect your order immediately after delivery.
If the item is damaged, defective, or not the item you ordered, contact us as soon as possible at:

Please do not attempt to repair, adjust, disassemble, clean, or modify the item before contacting us. Doing so may affect your eligibility for a return or refund.
For watches, cameras, lenses, and other mechanical or electronic items, we may request photographs or a video demonstrating the reported issue before authorizing the return.

## 6. Items That Cannot Be Returned
Returns cannot normally be accepted for:
- Pre-order or specially reserved items
- Items returned after the 14-day return request period
- Items sent back without prior authorization
- Items that have been used, worn, altered, repaired, opened, disassembled, cleaned, or modified after delivery
- Items with removed or changed serial numbers, security labels, tags, or identifying marks
- Items missing accessories, documentation, boxes, packaging, or other included contents
- Items damaged due to misuse, improper handling, accidents, storage conditions, water, moisture, impact, magnetism, or unauthorized repair
- Items sold as “As Is,” “For Parts,” “Not Working,” or with a clearly disclosed defect, when the return reason relates to that disclosed condition
- Gift cards
- Personalized or specially sourced items
This does not limit any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws when an item is damaged, defective, or materially different from its description.
Please contact us before returning an item if you are unsure whether it is eligible.

## 7. Vintage and Pre-Owned Items
Our products are primarily vintage or pre-owned.
Photographs and product descriptions form an important part of the item’s condition disclosure. Please review all photographs, measurements, condition notes, and functional descriptions carefully before placing your order.
The following are not normally considered defects when they were disclosed or visible on the product page:
- Signs of age or previous use
- Scratches, scuffs, discoloration, wear, or deterioration
- Variations in color or texture
- Minor dust or debris
- Aging of leather, rubber, coatings, seals, or other materials
- Accuracy or performance characteristics described on the product page
- Missing accessories or functions clearly disclosed before purchase
A return will not be accepted solely because the customer overlooked information or photographs provided on the product page.

## 8. Exchanges
We do not offer direct exchanges.
The fastest way to receive another item is to request and complete an approved return, then place a new order for the replacement item.
Because many of our vintage and pre-owned products are one-of-a-kind, the same item may not be available for replacement.

## 9. Refunds
We will notify you after the returned item has been received and inspected.
If the return is approved, the eligible refund will be issued to the original payment method.
Depending on the reason for the return, the following amounts may be deducted from the refund to the extent permitted by applicable law:
- Original shipping costs included in the product price
- Return shipping costs
- Import duties, taxes, customs charges, brokerage fees, and carrier fees
- Costs resulting from an unauthorized return or an incorrectly completed return shipment
- Reduction in the item’s value caused by use, damage, missing contents, alteration, or improper handling after delivery
If the item is confirmed to have arrived damaged, defective, or materially different from the description due to our error, reasonable return shipping costs will not be deducted.
Please allow additional time for your bank, credit-card company, or payment provider to process and post the refund after it has been issued.

## 10. Import Duties and Taxes on Returns
Import duties, taxes, and customs charges paid to a government authority or shipping carrier are not always refundable by us.
For orders returned from outside Japan, the customer must follow our return instructions and accurately complete all customs documents. The shipment must be clearly identified as a returned item where permitted.
Any additional duties, taxes, customs charges, storage fees, or carrier fees caused by incorrect return documentation or failure to follow our instructions may be deducted from the refund.
